The group's discussions have a potential to develop a capacity to introspectively join beliefs, attitudes and values with a broad emotional appreciation of the impact of others' daily experiences, as endured along the transformative journey back from a brain injury, for instance, involving delayed experiences that are suggestive of postconcussive syndrome due to trauma, behaviors and knowledge processing deficits associated with toxic or anoxic causes for structural brain damage, complications that may arise in the course of managing epilepsy (seizure disorder), deep brain tissue (i.e., white matter) degenerative disorders, as exemplified by multiple sclerosis (i.e., MS), mild / late adult-onset multi-focal cognitive dysfunction (i.e., dementia), Tourette's / tic disorders, including prolonged struggles with infectious and immunocompetence-impaired/autoimmune conditions already affecting integrated operations of the brain and nervous system.
