The "Voodoo Child Revue" is fronted by NYC's own Jimy Bleu, who has been carrying on, by direct personal lineage, a concept Hendrix called "Electric Ladyland" while he was a member of the official Jimi Hendrix fan club at Warner/Reprise records from xxxx-xxxx.
The revue consists of Bleu fronting 2 musicians portraying "The Experience" & later in the set 2 different musicians portraying "The Band Of Gypsies". Performed with vintage equipment, light show & costume changes, the show covers EVERY period of Jimi's illustrious career with emphasis on creating an exciting stage show.
World-wide, the show has opened for and toured with the likes of Aerosmith, Slade, Graham Central Station, The J. Geils Band and Foghat, as well as appearing in major venues such as the Woodstock 25th anniversary, the Atlantic Pop Festival and Reggae Sunsplash to name a few. They have also appeared on German TV, London's BBC TV, American Masters PBS special and MTV.
Bleu, himself a former Columbia/Def Jam recording artist having had relative success in the '90's with music mogul Russell Simmons as his personal manager, also performs the music of Hendrix in the studio on all instruments (guitar, bass, live drums & vocals) which showcases MORE THAN ANYONE Bleu's knowledge of Hendrix's music & mysticism. https://www.reverbnation.com/voodoochildreview
Besides giving lecture/demonstrations about Hendrix on TV & college campuses across the USA, an unauthorized feature film based on Jimi Hendrix produced by Bleu is currently in post-production. He is now also reviving his off-Broadway Hendrix-based play.
