Development Officer in Manhattan, New York For Sale

The THANC (Thyroid, Head and Neck Cancer) Foundation is seeking a talented Development Officer with a minimum of three years experience in fundraising to help orchestrate our fundraising/development efforts.
We are a small, dynamic and growing not-for-profit with a thirteen year history. The Development Officer will be a key member of THANC's team. He/she will work directly with the Executive Director, staff and prospects/donors.
Responsibilities will include:
Research and identify prospective major donors
Create profiles of major donors for the board and Executive Director
Identify appropriate corporate/foundation partners
Plan and execute cultivation events
Manage NEON and other relevant databases
Develop donor solicitation strategies in collaboration with the Executive Director and Medical Advisor
Maintain ongoing communication with mid-range donors
Build and manage online giving program
Solicit mid range and major gifts
Plan and execute fundraising events
Oversee stewardship of all donors
Prepare and write grant proposals
Create and execute annual fundraising plan with measurable goals
Desired Skills and Experience:
Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of specific fundraising experience
Experience managing and maintaining a donor database system
Knowledge of Microsoft Suite ( PowerPoint, Excel, Word)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Grant writing experience
Ability to perform accurate and detailed prospect research
Understanding and passion for THANC's mission
Experience working with senior executives and non-profit staff across all levels
