Project Asian Health Education and Development is an 8-week summer internship program designed to give training and experience to college students who have an interest in pursuing a career in healthcare. Project AHEAD xxxx will take place Monday, June 27, xxxx through Friday, August 19, xxxx,and will be located in lower Manhattan.
Our goals are:
To increase interns' interest in and awareness of the special needs, problems, and strengths of Asian American communities and to encourage interns to enter health and allied health professions in areas of community need.
To provide exposure to health care delivery in the community health center setting.
To help interns develop a better understanding of themselves as individuals and as important contributing members of minority communities.
The program consists of:
Seminars and workshops
Development and implementation a community health project
Shadow healthcare professionals opportunities
Qualifications:
Currently an undergraduate student
Interested in healthcare and the Asian American community
Committed to working full-time, Monday ? Friday, 9am ? 5pm, including some early mornings and weekends.
We cannot accommodate international students or students who are studying temporarily in the United States with the intention of returning home after completing their studies.
