Job Description: Associate Counsel or Experienced Paralegal/Leasing associate Busy real estate management company looking for energetic, ambitious associate to join their team. Applicants must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be attentive to details. Duties and Responsibilities: Familiarity with NYC rent regulation, related administrative matters and proceedings; ability to respond in writing to related matters and appear on behalf of landlord at hearings. Negotiate and draft correspondence, lease riders, legal agreements, assist with commercial leasing; work efficiently with general counsel and all members of the legal team. Knowledge of HPD, DOB, ECB and FDNY issues effecting buildings in NYC and ability to appear before such agencies in order to address violations. Coordinate gathering of documents and information for outside counsel, landlord-tenant counsel and any other outside vendors; participates in weekly legal meeting. Communicate with tenants clearly and effectively, both verbally and in writing, regarding leasing matters, repairs and general property management related matters. Qualifications: Attorney with 2+ years experience or an experienced paralegal or leasing associate with 4+ years experience. Experience in NYC-based property management is required. Highly organized, ability to multi-task while still attentive to details. Excellent written and verbal communication skills at all levels of the property management structure. Computer skills a must, experience with property management software a plus. Salary commensurate with experience.
