Advertising Solutions Manager - Permission Programs and Opt-In - Verizon (New York, NY) in Manhattan, New York For Sale

Responsibilities
The Manager of Permission Programs and Opt-in for Integrated Advertiser Solutions will be responsible for driving user growth and minimizing churn across Verizon’s advertising permission programs through the development of new opt-in channels, including continued optimization of opt-in UX, as well as creating strong consumer incentive through clear value exchange. This leader’s focus will be to own the opt-in number and be the single owner at Verizon responsible for program growth. This Manager will become deeply knowledgeable in the voice of customer and understand what drives behavior around opt-in. They’ll identify emerging industry trends, provide thought leadership and map strategy to business plans to align and execute across AOL and Verizon. Additional responsibilities to include:
Lead the growth and development of Verizon’s advertising and data permission programs
Researches and tracks current trends in consumer digital & ad services associated with a) privacy management b) value propositions associated with securing permission to use data c) user sentiment on what fair value exchange would be. Has familiarity with privacy regulation, consumer best practices and the legal/regulatory environment associated with marketing practices.
Drives IT requirements for enhancements to all aspects of the permissions programs. Works with various teams to illustrate the ideal user experience and checks with various stakeholders to build consensus on best experience.
Go To Market Liaison: Works closely with Verizon & AOL GTM teams to build communication and launch overviews. Work closely with PR, Legal, Privacy, Area Marketing, Customer Care to educate teams on upcoming launch Timing and Project Details.
Approaches third party vendors about opportunities to incorporate Verizon Selects (opt-in) within their loyalty programs. Negotiates and seeks out best interest for Verizon Selects (opt-in) program. Thinks creatively about bringing mutual value to both parties.
Approaches various Verizon and AOL internal departments who own products, apps, devices, programs that could benefit from a partnership with the Verizon Selects (opt-in) program.
Assists with the Annual Privacy Reminder notification process for Precision products. This process includes working closely with CRM and IT teams to ensure Verizon subscribers are properly informed.
Works cross-organizationally; plans and schedules activities; facilitates needed communication regarding privacy management and associated programs.
Proactively manages in-market programs to identify risks or areas of improvement and identifies solutions and resolutions
Works closely with Product and IT teams to ensure requirements are followed, product capabilities are accurate, user functionality is flawless, testing is well carried out and team timeliness are steadily kept for product launches.
Responsible for keeping documentation associated with privacy management and operations
Assist Product team with user experience testing for new privacy management solutions
Provides support for audit activities associated with privacy operations
Use strong communication skills to distill complex business issues and builds consensus across constituencies and passionately evangelizes the advertising vision internally and externally.
Qualifications
Education:Bachelor's degree, MBA or MS is preferred or equivalent work experience
Experience:
Progressively increasing responsibility and experience in supporting information management, privacy practices, or compliance
Knowledge of privacy frameworks and principles, and experience in privacy programs based in U.S. law
Experience in driving complex initiatives and change across multiple functions within an organization
Understanding of database marketing, direct marketing and digital marketing practices a plus
Ability to think strategically, execute tactically and build relationships with business partners in a collaborative environment
Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills, including the ability to communicate to all organization levels
Must be able to operate under minimal supervision while serving as a key resource to the business
Takes initiative independently, and is highly organized with attention to detail
Courage to take difficult or unpopular positions when necessary to protect the company
Reputation for exercising the highest integrity
Ability to draft policy documents and translate legal and privacy requirements into practical and actionable elements.
Strong understanding of Verizon and AOL assets and the role they can play in the Internet Services space. Specific knowledge of digital/mobile advertising and the competitive landscape, as well as the role of permissions in advertising and digital content including trends, and related key industry issues.
Strong understanding of Verizon and AOL policies & processes related to privacy, governance/go to market, organizational structure and product approvals.
Proven track record identifying and developing new content models and engaging user experiences for online, mobile, TV/Video and digital media products. Specific examples of developing strategies and user experience related to creating strong value exchange and opt-in incentives,
Demonstrated success shaping product vision and strategy, as well as experience bringing several highly innovative, compelling, and profitable products to market. Has successfully brought a digital advertising product to market with annual revenues of at least $50 million.
Demonstrated ability to navigate complex environments with a track record of building and fostering credibility and alliances.
Effectively communicates and presents ideas to others in a manner that achieves clarity, buy-in, commitment, and success.
Hands-on, “roll up your sleeves” mindset, with the ability to be a driver and change agent in an organization. Proven ability to lead through influence without a direct line of authority.
Thrives in a fast paced environment and comfort dealing with ambiguity.
Exceptional analytical, strategic and critical thinking skills. Has a basic technical understanding to drive successful product strategy and user-centric product design.
